Some of you newer folks don't know, but Church Films started with a podcast. Its first season wrapped earlier this year.
You can download all of season 1's chats with budding filmmakers, established filmmakers, and other artists that in some way, shape, or form, could be connected to the world of film/video and/or they're trying to follow Jesus.
Each episode is anywhere from 20-60 minutes, and each one was a learning curve for me.
Serious. I think I got more out of those podcasts than anyone else.
After reading more about the ever-changing currents of best SEO practices from the man Brian Dean, it's time for some fall cleaning on old posts, and the podcast posts are getting the axe (with the exception of the evergreen content from Diego Contreras - super amazing template for visual treatments/pitches - you can't miss it).

I started Church Films with big pie in the sky aspirations - and I didn't know a thing about business. I wanted to do everything and wound up doing a lot of nothing with little results; I talk more about needing a clear why and what here, but it boils down to this: a laser-focused vision and mission are crucial for any group (NPO, church, biz, movie crew, dance troupe, 10am shift at Mickey D's, you name it).
Because I didn't give myself a clear roadmap, I did a heap of podcasts over a span of about 13 months, and they're all here for you (CLICK the box above) to download.
They started off all over the map, I learned a ton, and by the end, I knew where season 2 should go, and that should be 2-hour sitdowns with video producers who are fighting and clawing to get a story out to the masses (because that describes many of us microbudget filmmakers). No one's doing that, and if you want to seize that niche, do it; here's how you can get started with a podcast on Squarespace.
But I take full responsibility for not having season 2 up and running. That's on me. And that's not the only thing that's been trimmed back; without a super niche form of media, having another YouTube account or another Instagram account or another run of podcasts are not going to help anyone right now. In fact, I narrowed down to just Twitter and Facebook apart from this blog, and I'm still mapping out plans for those two accounts other than just "BLOG TITLE, LINK, HASHTAG" like every other lazy bones jones (myself included).
